Abstract
THE rescue of the genome of transforming RNA viruses from non-productive permissive or non-permissive cells has been achieved by various biological methods, the two basic principles of which are superinfection with leukaemia helper virus1 in the case of permissive cells and mixed culture with homologous cells in the case of non-permissive cells2.
