Since the publication of this paper, the authors have noticed an error regarding a unit of measurement (μM) in the first paragraph under the heading ‘5′ exonuclease (Taqman) assay’, on page 5.
The correct measurement is shown in the following sentence.
Primer and probe sequences are listed in Table 2 and were used at the following final concentrations: 1 μM forward primer, 1.5 μM reverse primer and 200 nM of the Taqman probe labeled with 6-carboxyfluorescein (FAM, 5′) and a black hole quencher (BHQ, 3′).
