Cytokines in affective disorders and schizophrenia: new clinical and genetic findings

Abstract

This issue features articles by Anisman et al and by Katila et al indicating a role for IL-1β in mood disorders and schizophrenia respectively. These results raise the possibility that inflammatory mediators may contribute to the biology of psychiatric disorders.
