Symptomless hyperuricaemia in patients with essential hypertension and normal renal function

Abstract

In patients with essential hypertension who have apparently normal renal function it is not unusual for the serum uric acid to be elevated.1–3 This short review considers the implications of discovering hyperuricaemia in patients with essential hypertension.
