Eric Blair

Eric Blair is a Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology in the University of Leeds. He obtained his first degree in biochemistry from the University of Edinburgh and his PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Warwick. His research interests are principally in the evasion of the cellular immune system by cells transformed by oncogenic DNA viruses (human adenoviruses and papillomaviruses) and in the subversion of the antigen processing and presentation pathway by viral oncoproteins. This stemmed from post-doctoral work at the National Institute for Medical Research, London, and Uppsala University.

Graham Cook

Graham Cook is a Principal Research Fellow in the Leeds Institute of Molecular Medicine at the University of Leeds. He studied microbiology at Imperial College, London, and did his PhD at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge. His research interests are in the biology of natural killer (NK) cells, in particular the mechanisms by which they recognize and kill tumour cells. This work includes collaborative research with Eric Blair on the recognition and killing of virus-transformed cells.
