Neuroimmunology: Finding a way into the brain
Abstract
Experimental autoimmune encephalitis (EAE) is an inflammatory demyelinating disease that is used as a model for multiple sclerosis. Both interleukin-17 (IL-17)-producing T helper 17 (TH17) cells and interferon-γ (IFNγ)-producing TH1 cells are thought to be involved in the initiation and development of EAE.
