Optical quantum information: The quantum information cocoon
Abstract
Photons are a convenient way to send information — light in optical fibres is the backbone of our information age. Single photons are also playing a big role in developing quantum information technologies as information carriers for quantum computing, tools for precision measurement devices, and much more besides.
