The US must help set international standards for nanotechnology

Abstract
International standards are essential to support global trade and provide a foundation for risk management programmes that protect human health and the environment. Such standards are widely used to support the regulatory work of global intergovernmental organizations such as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the United Nations International Labor Organization, the World Health Organization and the World Trade Organization.
