The ethomics era?
Abstract
The fruit (or more properly, the vinegar or pomace) fly, Drosophila melanogaster, has been at the forefront of efforts to identify genes and neurons that participate in the control of behavior. Two newly developed systems, reported in this issue and a recent issue of Nature Methods, should now allow high-resolution behavioral studies at a much larger scale.
