Geomorphology: Avalanches and moraines
Abstract
Mountain landscapes are the locations of many catastrophic geomorphic processes, the most impressive of these being rock slope failure. Even stable mountain terrains contain widespread evidence of giant rock slope failure, but it is in the more tectonically active mountain regions of the world that the largest volumes of rock debris are released.
