Falsified data gets India's largest generic drug-maker into trouble
US Federal Drug Administration withdraws approval for a score of drugs from Ranbaxy.
Ranbaxy Laboratories — India's biggest drug maker and one of the largest generics firms in the world — has been slapped with tough penalties by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) after it was repeatedly caught falsifying data from one of its four Indian manufacturing plants.
The news thrusts a key member of the burgeoning generics industry into an unflattering spotlight just as the industry looks poised to make serious gains under President Barack Obama.

FDA has to be very strict while approving any drugs. Not only RANBAXY but all companies throughout the world has to be evaluated by FDA with uniformity. These pharmaceutical companies are playing with life of a patients. Any type of errors or mistakes or iresponsible activity in drug making should not be accepted in any case.
