Mars rover needs a date

NASA's Mars Science Laboratory needs more money to reach the launch pad, and has less time.

NASA's next mission to Mars has another problem — finding a launch slot.

The Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) is due to blast off in late 2011, two years later than originally planned.

  • Globally is the only means to achieve a human and humane presence in space. Let us hope however, that the U.S. has learned to measure in metric units so as to prevent repeats of prior incidents. I fully support any cooperative ventures that get the human race where it should have been decades ago: extra-solar.
