New insight into SIDS

Mouse model suggests serotonin might play a role in cot death.

Mice engineered to have abnormal brain chemistry surprised researchers with their unpredictable deaths -- and may be one of the best models yet for sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), also known as cot death.

In a new study published in Science1, researchers changed the control of serotonin, a neurotransmitter, in the mice.
