Company claims to have sequenced man's genome cheaply
Critics question accuracy and US$100,000 price tag.
A company based in San Diego, California, claims to have sequenced an individual human genome cheaper and faster than ever before.
The company, Illumina, said this week that it had sequenced DNA from the genome of an anonymous African man in “a matter of weeks” for US$100,000.

Although the validity of the claim of US$100,000 sequencing by Illumina can be ascertained only after the work is published, we may take the claim at face value at the moment becuse the company has earlier provided most cost effective genotyping and gene expression profiling technologies.
