Chemical answers to epigenetic crosstalk

The eukaryotic genome is packaged with core histones and other chromosomal proteins to form chromatin. One unique feature of the core histones is their enrichment in covalent modifications, which include acetylation, phosphorylation, ubiquitylation and methy-lation.
