Antigene leaps forward through an open door
Abstract
The ability to specifically inhibit expression of a single gene has become an essential tool for genomics and a long-standing goal for therapeutics. Antisense oligomers and short interfering RNA (siRNA) block gene expression by preventing proper translation of messenger RNA, but no general method has emerged for inhibiting transcription.
