In the News & Views article “Organic chemistry:A tuxedo for iodine atoms” by Phil S. Baran and Thomas J. Maimone (Nature 445, 826–827; 2007), a couple of errors crept into the accompanying figure. The bond to the top-right hydrogen atom in hopene, which was indicated to be projecting below the plane of the paper, should be pointing upwards; in other words, the hashed bond to this atom should be replaced with a wedge-shaped bond. Similarly, the wedge-shaped bond at the bottom right of the promoter should be replaced with a hashed bond, to indicate that it is projecting below the page, and not above it.
