Abstract
What drives environmental activists to fire-bomb laboratories? Emma Marris investigates a radical fringe of the US green movement.
One day in June 1998, three young environmental activists of a radical bent drove from Eugene, Oregon, to Olympia, Washington. Their route took them through some of the loveliest country in the Pacific Northwest: up Interstate 5, through the Willamette Valley, between dark green forested mountains and misty hillside vineyards.
