Synthetic lacoperator DNA is functional in vivo

Abstract

Blunt end ligation with an EcoRI/ octanucleotide “linker” was used to construct a plasmid containing chemically synthesized lac operator DNA. This plasmid renders the host bacterium constitutive for β-galactosidase.
