Role of the Intestinal Microvilli and Glycocalyx in the Absorption of Disaccharides

Abstract

Hamilton and McMichael1 and Matthews2 have recently suggested mechanisms to explain features of intestinal disaccharide absorption which are dependent on the structure of the microvilli and their surface membrane.
