Now in its fourth year, The Global Innovation Hubs Index tracks the innovation performance of 119 cities/metropolitan areas around the world, and the development of those cities into global innovation hubs.
The GIHI2023, developed by the Center for Industrial Development and Environmental Governance (CIDEG) at Tsinghua University, uses objective data to rank leading GIHs in terms of their scientific research, technological innovation, and emerging industries. New features this year include an examination of mini-hubs (cities with populations fewer than 1 million) and deep dives into artificial intelligence patents and disciplinary strengths of GIHs.
