About the editors

Editor-in-Chief

Stephen Hancocks OBE, British Dental Association, London, UK 
Stephen is Editor-in-Chief of the BDJ. He is a dentist, writer, editor, publisher and performer. He was appointed OBE in 1997 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for services to the dental profession and subsequently has been awarded Honorary Membership of the British Dental Association, the American Dental Association and a place in the prestigious FDI’s List of Honour. He has an MA from the Central School of Speech and Drama, London in Advanced Theatre Practice and is also well known for chairing, lecturing and after-dinner speaking. Additionally, he has a gardening series on YouTube entitled Let's Go Gardening.  

Editor

Kate Quinlan, Springer Nature, London, UK 
Kate Quinlan has been Editor of BDJ Team since it was launched in 2014. She was also Editor for BDJ Team's predecessor, a quarterly print and online publication called Vital. Kate originally joined the BDJ as an administrator then rose through the ranks to become News Editor in 2010 and these days is also Publishing Editor for BDJ In Practice and BDJ Student. Outside work she stays busy with her two children and likes to scuba dive in exotic locations where possible.

Art Editor

Melissa Cassem, Springer Nature, London, UK
Melissa Cassem is Art Editor for the BDJ Portfolio. Melissa brings words and pictures to life visually for BDJ Team and BDJ Student, and also manages and commissions cover series for the BDJ, BDJ In Practice, BDJ Student and EBD.
