On 1 January 2018, new GDC regulations for enhanced CPD came into effect for all dentists. Dental care professionals will follow from 1 August 2018.

In the autumn of 2017, Tipton Training launched its level 7 courses which are independently assessed by a UK awarding body. Tipton Training is way ahead of the curve.

The new GDC requirements come with a host of new stipulations for dentists to follow:

• You no longer need to record non-verifiable CPD, only verifiable CPD

• You must complete a minimum of 100 hours per 5-year cycle

• You cannot make declarations of zero hours in two consecutive years

• You must provide proof of your CPD hours, most likely in the form of a certificate.
