At this year's Dental Technology Showcase in Birmingham, Solvay Dental 360 introduced Ultaire AKP, a high-performance specialty polymer engineered to replace metal as the material of choice for removable partial denture (RPD) frames.

Dentists are requesting metal-free, lighter-in-weight, tasteless, durable, and, of course, aesthetic options for their patients who wear partials. Over the years, other materials have not been able to meet all of these requests. Ultaire is finally the solution that replaces metal in nearly all categories.

Ultaire AKP offers additional benefits. Due to its flexibility and light-weight properties, clasps are shorter, slightly thicker and placed deeper into the undercut area. This allows for better-looking prosthetics and a 'snap-in fit' that delivers the retention patients expect.

Solvay Dental 360 provides training and support throughout the RPD design and production process. Solvay will make their material available to labs who have already made the CAD/CAM investment, as well as those who have not, by introducing a cost-effective outsourced design and milling solution and technical support.

Once complete, technicians download and import a DME file to work within their preferred software platform. Support will be provided on initial designs ensuring that frames are produced within specifications.
