When you choose PerioChip as an adjunct to scaling and root planing (SRP) in periodontal treatment, you can achieve greater pocket depth reduction compared to SRP alone.
The micro-sized, rounded device indicated for insertion in pockets of 5 mm or more contains 36% chlorhexidine digluconate, and has been proven effective at eliminating 99% of subgingival periopathogenic bacteria.
PerioChip is ideal for use in patients with periodontitis to reduce pocket depth. For example, a dental hygienist in Liverpool used PerioChip in one patient in three placements, three months apart and saw a reduction in pocket depth from 7 mm to 5 mm.
