Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to emphasise the value of counselling in the medical and vocational rehabilitation of the spinal cord injury patient in a world passing through a stage of deep and rapid evolution, and the importance that effective communication may have in it so that a better social integration or reintegration of the patient may be achieved.
