The effect of topical applications of potassium fluoride and of the ingestion of tablets containing sodium fluoride on the incidence of dental caries

In 1942, an investigation was started at the National Children's Home, Frodsham, near Liverpool, on the incidence and relationship between various dental conditions. The intention was to make a two-year preliminary study before examining some aspect of dental caries. The investigation eventually made was into the relationship between dental caries and fluorine. This report relates to that investigation: the preliminary studies will be reported separately.
