In a break from the norm, this month we have a dentist on the cover! Of course, dentists are part of the dental team too, so it only seems fair to include them in BDJ Team from time to time.

Cover star Graeme Elliott was signed off work with stress and ended up launching a woodwork business, selling his handcrafted or expertly restored woodwork. By the sounds of things, Graeme now has a much more tranquil state of mind - balancing time in the workshop and with his family with part time hours in private dentistry.

Look out for a special themed issue on mental health and wellbeing later this year.

If you have a special hobby or interest that you would like to tell the readers of BDJ Team all about, I would love to hear from you. In the July issue we will meet a dentist planning a solo trek to the South Pole!

This June, again we return to the important role of the dental therapist and how dentistry could make fuller use of their scope of practice. A team of authors from Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust asks Could dental therapists have a role in domiciliary dentistry? and authors from Peninsula Dental School present a shared approach to the management of a patient presenting with necrotising periodontitis by both undergraduate dental and dental therapy students.

Jeniffer Simpson is about to join the dental therapist workforce, having just completed a degree in Oral Health Science at the University of the Highlands and Islands. Jen has shared her investigation into whether green tea improves periodontal indices in patients undergoing non-surgical periodontal treatment.

The annual renewal period for dental care professionals has just opened, so make sure your CPD hours are up to date and that you've completed all of the free BDJ Team CPD available. Visit https://go.nature.com/3Ok2uGe.

Meanwhile enjoy our June issue and the lovely weather!
