Patients may present to emergency dental clinics with a vast array of urgent conditions. Systematic assessment of a patient not only allows for all pathologies to be identified, but is also an invaluable opportunity to spot safeguarding concerns and undiagnosed medical conditions. In this case report, the unusual presentation of an avulsed tooth that had just fallen out led to a discovery of multiple taurodonts and short root anomalies. Root development defects are rare, even more so when generalised. This case highlights their complex aetiologies and the implications for the clinician.
