PEDIATRIC RESEARCH DIRECTOR
DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is seeking a Director of Pediatric Research. DeVos Children's Hospital is a 136-bed university-affiliated tertiary care center with 25 hospital-based pediatric faculty, a strong pediatric residency program, and a highly-committed, well-organized community of primary care pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists. The faculty are young, well trained, with active and enduring research interests. The director will promote and oversee research within all of the Children's Hospital programs. DeVos Children's Hospital and the Butterworth Health System have extensive and rapidly growing research resources and a strong commitment to research.
Candidates should be eligible for appointment at the associate professor or professor level and have demonstrated ability to obtain extramural funding. Highly desirable are skills in outcomes and health services research.

The Society for Adolescent Medicine
The Society for Adolescent Medicine will hold its annual meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, between March 4-8, 1998 focusing on “Health Services Research and Outcomes”. In addressing this topic, the meeting will present new material on adolescent physical and emotional health, AIDS and HIV medical management, teenage sexuality, eating disorders, depression, and drug and alcohol abuse. Meeting presentations include 2-hour clinically-oriented workshops, 4-hour institutes on current and timely topics, luncheon seminars, scientific research paper presentations and poster sessions, and the prestigious Gallagher Lecture Series.
