Abstract
Lymphocytosis is frequently associated with clinical pertussis. Lymphocyte population in 10 children with bacteriologically proven pertussis was studied. The total number of lymphocytes, T and B cells, mitogen response to common lectins - PHA, Con-A, PWM, - immunoglobulins - IgG, IgM, IgA - as well as subgroup of T cells - OKT3, OKT4, OKT8, OKT11 - were determined and compared to the normal population. No statistically significant difference between the two groups were found.
