Giant RNA Transcript in a Balbiani Ring

Abstract

A very high molecular weight RNA molecule is transcribed from a defined chromosome region, the Balbiani ring 2 in Chironomus tentans salivary glands. This supports the concept of the chromomere as a unit of transcription.
