Selective Inhibition of Transformed Cells in Culture by Anti-thymidine Antibodies

Abstract

ANTIBODIES specific for each of the five common bases of DNA and RNA and various dinucleoside phosphates have been induced in rabbits following immunization with nucleoside-protein conjugates1–3. These antibodies react with denatured or single stranded DNA to fix complement, to precipitate the DNA and to inhibit its in vitro priming activity4, although they have no reaction with native DNA.
