Bioregulation of Lipid and Protein Synthesis in Soybean by 2-Diethylaminoethyl-3,4-Dichlorophenylether

Abstract

Application of the bioregulator 2-diethyla-minoethyl-3,4-dichlorophenylether (DCP-TA) causes significant increases in the lipid (triglyceride) and protein content of the soybean. At the same time, soybean yield is enhanced. No negative relationships among the constituents and yield are observed. Previously DCPTA was shown to affect the synthesis of biogenetically unrelated cis-polyisoprenes in the guayule plant. These observations have implications for agricultural crop productivity and quality.
