Due to a typesetting error, some of the text in this paper has been published incorrectly.
In the paragraph headed Tear film break-up time, the first sentence should read:
Two microlitres of 1% fluorescein containing preservative-free solution were applied in the conjunctival sac with a micropipette.35
And the TBUT value in the last sentence should be 5 s.
In the paragraph headed Brush cytology, the manufacturers of Diff-Quik staining should have been cited as Dade Behring, Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, Deerfield, IL, USA.
In the paragraph headed Schirmer's test, the P-value is incorrect. The correct P-value is >0.0001.
As there is no colour in Figure 2, the references to the blue arrow in the figure legend should be to the left arrow, and the reference to the pink arrow should be to the right arrow.
Similarly in Figure 4, the reference to the colour of the arrows in the figure legend is unnecessary.
