Abstract
Acute idiopathic thrombocytopaenic purpura is the most common of the thrombocytopaenias of childhood. Clinically it is associated with petechiae, mucocutaneous bleeding and occasionally haemorrhage into tissues. The oral mucosa is frequently involved.
