Abstract
Continuing education is now seen as an essential part of professional practice and ways to improve the effectiveness of these courses are always under review. This article describes a year long, part-time hands-on restorative dentistry course and reports on the results. The aim of the course was to encourage those practitioners to attend continuing education courses who would not usually do so, and devise ways to maximise the usefulness of the course content
