The new generation
Nitiflex from Dentsply UK is part of a new generation of hand files in flexible nickel-titanium that Dentsply claims is superior to traditional stainless steel instruments.
The nickel–titanium alloy is several times more flexible than the springiest steel and the core geometry of the Nitiflex changes progressively throughout the range of sizes to give flexibility.
The Nitiflex is available in ISO sizes 15 to 60 in 21 mm and 25 mm lengths.

Get to the root of it
Kel 8 from Septodont is a chelating agent to aid the cleaning, irrigation and reaming of root canals.
Septodont claims that unlike other solutions available to aid root canal treatment, Kel 8 is not caustic or dangerous to handle in the mouth. Kel 8 is instead presented in the form of a neutral solution that provokes a chemical reaction with the mineral components of the tooth, rendering it friable and offering only a slight resistance to mechanical action.
Septodont claims that with its low surface tension, Kel 8 easily penetrates even the narrowest of canals without mechanical aid. Kel 8 contains a quaternary ammonium salt with a strong bactericidal action.
Also available from Septodont is the intra-canal medication Endocal. Endocal is a calcium hydroxide formulation with a high pH value and is also non-setting to maintain its alkalinity. This allows it to be effective in the decontamination of root canals.

Cores in a flash with Fuji
Fuji IX GP from GC (UK) Ltd is a versatile core build-up material for use following endodontic treatment.
Fuji IX GP is mixed to a putty-like consistency, either by hand or by using GC's capsulated system. This non-sticky material will not pull back when placed using metal hand instruments due to its non-slump characteristics.
Fuji IX GP can be packed and shaped during the setting phase. The fluoride releasing material sets in just four minutes and can be trimmed and finished immediately with water cooled instruments.
