Free to move

Freedom, from Paradigm, claims to set new standards in cabinetry design and function, meeting the practical demands of the modern dental practice.

Freedom offers wrap around delivery with everything easily accessible. Traditional 'L' shape design makes it difficult for the dentist to reach more than one cabinet, whereas Freedom's curved configuration makes accessing all cabinets easy.

Bambach saddle seat hot to trot

The Bambach Saddle Seat is claimed to enable dentists suffering from back pain to work pain free throughout the day.

Bambach says that research has shown that the ideal, natural sitting position for the human spine is achieved on horseback.

Conventional furniture removes the natural curves from the spine and places greater stress on the spinal disks, resulting in back pain for professionals who work for sustained periods from a sitting position. The Bambach Saddle Seat restores these natural curves.

Deck out your surgery with A-dec

Effective surgery design can be as important as choosing the right equipment and this is an area A-dec has concentrated on for many years, even before the buzzword ergonomics became popular.

No matter how technologically advanced dental equipment is, if it is not in the right place when you need it then the gadget factor is unimportant. Get the angle of the chair wrong and the entry/exit of the patient may be compromised, get the location of the services wrong and the ability to access the transfer zone may be compromised.

A-dec is involved in over 400 surgery designs in the UK every year. A-dec's professional, highly trained, equipment specialists are available to visit your practice well in advance of the project commencing to listen to your needs. They will then offer advice to ensure the optimum working environment given the constraints of your building or budget, and any potential requirements you may have. For more information contact A-dec United Kingdom 0800 (ADECUK) 233285, or e-mail A-dec at info@a-dec.co.uk.

A-dec UK will be exhibiting at the forthcoming BDA Conference in Harrogate from 3rd-5th May on stands 69-70.

Paradigm keep a step ahead

Paradigm claims fixed furniture is simply not capable of the kind of modification needed to accommodate much of the equipment required for an up-to-date surgery.

Paradigm's mobile units (left) have been designed in conjunction with a range of practices looking to improve the flexibility and safety of their surgeries. The unit can be moved to any part of the surgery for easy use and foot controls can be tidily stored off the floor when not in use.

Also available from Paradigm is a new hands-free waste bin system (top, right). The door opens quietly and easily using a simple foot press and can be left open during surgery as it does not impede the dental stool.
