B cell-derived immunoglobulin on activated mouse T lymphocytes

Abstract

IT is generally accepted that B lymphocytes express a high density of surface immunoglobulin (Ig). The presence of surface Ig on T lymphocytes, by contrast, is controversial. Thus, in mice, T cell surface Ig is considered to be undetectable by some workers1–3; others, by contrast, report that T lymphocytes express as much surface Ig as B cells4.
