Exciton-like splitting in acridine dye–nucleic acid complexes

Abstract

COMPLEXES between cationic acridine dyes and nucleic acids are of considerable interest because of the wide variety of biological effects in which the interaction between the dye and nucleic acids have been implicated1–3.
