Proton Radiographic Detection of Strokes

Abstract

SOME penetrating radiations other than X rays can be used for the visualization of bodily structures. We are investigating the clinical potential of protein radiography, by which it is possible to obtain radiographs of unusually high contrast1. Having visualized tumours within human specimens, including brain autopsy material2, and carcinomas within breast tissue (manuscript in preparation), we now report the visualization of cerebral vascular lesions in specimens fixed in formalin.
