Dissociation of Ribosomes on Polypeptide Chain Termination and Origin of Single Ribosomes

Abstract

After polypeptide chain termination, ribosomes are released from polysomes in the form of ribosomal subunits. Single ribosomes, which differ from ribosomes found in polysomes, are formed by association of the released subunits.
