Synthesis of 5S Ribosomal RNA in Escherichia coli after Rifampicin Treatment

Abstract

Experiments involving rifampicin show that 5S RNA is generated from a transcription unit carrying between thirteen and thirty times the amount of genetic information necessary for the production of one molecule.
