Release Factor Translation of RNA Phage Terminator Codons

Abstract

Release factors R1 or R2 stimulate equally well the release of f2 coat protein, suggesting that UAA is the first coat terminator codon. The suppression of a nonsense codon can be regulated in vitro by the concentration of R factor of appropriate codon specificity.
