Abstract
A unique interaction between eukaryotic Met-tRNAF*, AUG and 80S ribosomes is demonstrated. It is suggested that tRNAF*Met is the only initiator tRNA on 80S ribosomes and that AUG and possibly GUG are the initiator codons.
