L-Dopa and Parkinsonism

Abstract

This new treatment for an old disease has its origins in pharmacological research of the late 1950s. There is still not full agreement about how L-dopa functions in the nervous system, but, as this review shows, there is ample evidence to support the clinical work in progress since 1961.
