Species Specificity of Polypeptide Chain Initiation

Abstract

Ribosomes of B. stearothermophilus differ from those of Escherichia coli in initiating the synthesis of only one protein coded for by bacteriophage f2 RNA, irrespective of the reaction conditions, supernatant enzymes or tRNA used.
