Primary Anti-protein Antibody Synthesis elicited in vitro

Abstract

ELICITATION of the primary antibody response after in vitro stimulation with participate antigens1,2 or after transfer of RNA or RNA protein complexes extracted from macrophages previously exposed to the antigen3 has recently been consistently demonstrated. Direct elicitation of the primary anti-protein antibody in vitro has been accomplished only inconsistently, however4. We describe here a simple and reliable system for the elicitation and study of the de novo antibody response after in vitro stimulation of fragment cultures with a protein antigen.
