Abstract
AMINOPEPTIDASE A, a mammalian peptidase specific for the hydrolysis of N-terminal α-L-glutamyl and aspartyl residues, has been found in many tissues such as the epithelium of guinea-pig pancreatic duct, islets of Langerhans and human and rat glomeruli1,2. It has been found in rat serum as well as in human serum3,4, and this serum enzyme activity is markedly activated specifically by calcium.
